  • Overview

    AmTrust Financial Services, a fast growing commercial insurance company, has a need for a Casualty Claims Assistant in our Chicago office. This task driven position will assist the professional liability adjusters with those non adjuster functions associated with handling claims. Time management skills are very important for this position as the claims assistant must be able to identify and prioritize the work they receive.





    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • File, Sort, and distribute incoming mail as well as collect and process outgoing mail
    • Operate mail machine
    • Certified mail Log (look up and import)
    • Performs data entry functions (claim file updates, forms, form letters, electronic file request, etc.) as directed
    • Occasional back up to claims clerk (New claim set up and importing documents)
    • Any other duties assigned



    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • 2 to 4 years of experience in an insurance claims department, or related experience
    • Basic knowledge of claims procedures and policies
    • Proven organization and detail-orientation skills
    • Ability to learn new procedures quickly and adapt to a changing environment
    • Professional telephone demeanor and good oral communication skills
    • Basic understanding of business technology
    • Ability to work in a team environment
