  • Overview

    Manages and directs activities regarding tax research, planning, and compliance required of property and and non-insurance subsidiaries.


    • Prepares and supervises corporate tax returns (income, franchise, personal property, annual reports, sales and use tax, and premium tax returns, both annually and quarterly).
    • Responsible for tax research and planning.
    • Responsible for preparation and documentation of financial statement tax provision.
    • Reconcile and prepare analysis on general ledger tax accounts.
    • Responsible for coordination and assistance of federal and state tax examinations by various tax authorities.
    • Coordinate implementation and maintain federal and state income tax software system for all companies.
    • Update and integrate company financial computer applications to company’s tax compliance procedures.
    • Maintain tax compliance calendar and audit schedules, updating as needed.
    • Maintain relationships with various taxing authorities and insurance tax departments regarding various corporate income and insurance tax issues.
    • Assist in technical tax-related issues involving other essential departments within the AmTrust organization.
    • Keep current regarding federal income tax laws and insurance tax laws.
    • Assist on any special projects requested by either the Chief Financial Officer or Vice-President & Director of Corporate Tax.


    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
    • Four to six years of tax experience in public or insurance industry accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience are necessary.
    • Advanced training indicated by CPA designation or Master’s of Tax preferred but not required.
    • Experience in dealing with IRS/State tax auditors a plus.
