  • Overview

    AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a multinational insurance holding company, is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join the team in Covina, California.  

    This position is responsible for  recording, reporting  and maintaining the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes associated primarily with the claims and large loss deductible activities of the  accounting operations. 


    • Prepare journal entries accurately and timely.
    • Perform reconciliations of assigned general ledger and/or bank accounts to ensure the timely completion of all reconciliations.
    • Take appropriate follow-up action to ensure corrective action on the part of either banks or other parties and ensure posting of appropriate corrective entries to the general ledger.
    • Perform reinsurance billings and collections, working with brokers as needed to ensure proper accounting.
    • Prepare the large loss deductible policy accounting entries, invoice billing and collections.
    • Assist with the accumulation of data for the Quarterly and Annual Statements for reporting the statutory (STAT) insurance operations.
    • Assist with and/or create the loss and deductible related data calls with the various regulatory agencies.
    • Assist with and/or create financial statements and supporting documents.
    • Collaborate with external and internal auditors to provide requested information or explanations as needed for both GAAP and STAT based audits.
    • Collaborate with internal actuaries regarding reported loss and deductible activity.
    • Perform various other duties and/or special projects as may be assigned by their supervisor.


    • College degree with major in business or accounting.
    • Strong computer skills – particularly Excel’s higher level functions.
    • Good interpersonal skills. Must be a team player.
    • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to a changing environment and the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
    • Oracle experience a plus.
    • Insurance experience  is required an a carrier environment preferable.
