  • Overview

    Reports to: VP Learning & Development

     

    General Description: Position will develop and coordinate the AmTrust Early Career Trainee program, the coordination of the Summer Intern programs as well as the Intern/Trainee program for Loss Control or other departments. Will work with departments who want to start intern programs to establish policy and criteria for the programs. Work with recruiting to develop job descriptions and target schools. Manage the University of Akron Scholarship program. Works with training vendors to plan and schedule training for trainee programs. Create Trainee Onboarding and other training courses as needed. Will develop and facilitate training as needed.

    Responsibilities

    Early Career Trainee Program

    • Using approved proposal, develop the AmTrust Early Career Trainee program
    • Work with key departments to develop AmTrust 101 presentations create template and assist key departments in creating content that contributes to learning the work of AmTrust in AmTrust 101
    • Coordinate and schedule learning activities for Early Career Trainees working with internal and external resources.
    • Plan and schedule quarterly cohort meetings with leaders – potentially in-person or using technology
    • Work with recruiting to identify candidates for committee vetting
    • Develop and facilitate additional programs as needed

     

    Loss Control Intern Trainee Program

    • Work with recruiting to identify qualified candidates
    • Work with Loss Control department to prepare program – assist in determining timing and program group
    • Create training schedule, create and conduct AmTrust orientation

     

    Summer Intern Program

    • Work with departments to determine summer intern needs
    • Work with recruiting to determine hiring process
    • Create and conduct group orientation to summer intern program

     

    Akron Scholarship Program

    • Monitor Akron Scholarship program
    • Review scholarship applicants – submit best applicants to executive (HR and Commercial Lines) for final approval
    • Ensure payments of invoices are approved and sent
    • Meet with Akron Scholarship group as needed

     

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 2 – 5 years’ experience managing/coordinating similar trainee programs
    • Proven excellent communication skills
    • Proven excellent program planning and coordination skills
    • 1-2 years in learning and development creating courses and facilitating to various audiences
    • Ability to travel 20%
    • 2-3 years’ experience developing and conducting training programs for employees
    • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization
