Overview

Team Description:

 

The Data Engineering team is aligned with our Operations Division and works on a variety of projects that involve building back-end data solutions that powers all of our company’s Business Intelligence Dashboards that could be used in business areas such as: Claims, Commercial Lines, Actuarial Data, Underwriting, etc.

 

Currently, we are looking for a Business Intelligence Developer to create and manage BI datasets and solutions that turn data into knowledge. In this role, you should have a background in data and business analysis with analytical and problem solving aptitude. 

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop enterprise and departmental business intelligence solutions
  • Develop and implement ETL processes, reports and queries in support of business analytics.
  • Designing, coding, testing, and documenting all new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs
  • Manages complete life cycle for most complex or high-risk components
  • Analyzes functional design/overall application technical design and develops detailed module technical application for complex components
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of technical design alternatives and their implications

Qualifications

4+ years of industry experience in a report development, data science, business analytics, business intelligence or comparable data engineering role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology

  • B.S. degree in math, statistics, computer science, or equivalent technical field
  • Knowledge of SQL to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfort presenting to everyone from entry-level employees to senior vice presidents
  • Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences
  • Curiosity and passion about data, visualization and solving problems
  • Creativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative data
  • Experience with Star and/or Snowflake Schema
  • Experience with reporting, descriptive statistics, probability, and cleaning big datasets
  • Experience with SSAS | SSIS
  • Enjoyment from collaborating with others in team environment
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
