AmTrust Financial, a global Fortune 500 insurance holding company, is currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager in Covina, California.  In this role you will Assist in directing the organization’s accounting functions and supervising the operation of the accounting department, including planning, compiling and organizing detailed documents and report relevant to financial information, including financial analysis projects, cash management, compliance, reconciliations, and account analysis.


  • Directs and coordinates the work of accountants in the Finance department as directed, in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws
  • Establishes and maintains the organization’s accounting principles, practices and procedures
  • Directs, coordinates and analyzes data related to company audits
  • Record and review daily, monthly and quarterly general ledger entries and reconciliations, including underwriting results for premium and losses
  • Prepare quarterly financial statement analytics
  • Ensure SOX compliance for accounting functions
  • Respond to inquiries from auditors, state insurance departments and regulatory agencies
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for process improvement



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years experience in public accounting or related field (P&C Statutory reporting experience preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thorough working knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, practices and procedures, budgets, and cash management


Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new software programs
  • General Ledger software experience (Oracle preferred)
