Overview

 

AmTrust Financial, a Global Fortune 500 company, is currently recruiting for a Business Data Analyst position Dallas, Texas.   The (Compliance)  Data Analyst is responsible for reporting statistical and financial data to the various mandated statistical agents and federal/state agencies and Bureaus.  He/She needs to interpret the requests and obtain the data to complete the required reports in a timely manner.  He/She interacts with business segments, premiums, claims, financial and IT functions.  He/She participates in process improvement efforts as needed as AmTrust continues to grow. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Files financial and statistical data in a timely and accurate manner preventing any penalties
  • Maintains a schedule of all required filings to insure timely filing and improve compliance with filing requirements.
  • Processes complex calls from external agencies, departments of Insurance and misc bureaus.
  • Responds to requests for data or analysis (providing as needed detailed policy and claim data)
  • Verifies accuracy of statstical data provided by IT and balances to the company’s financials. Requires familiarity with data reporting  
  • Build relationships with data agencies and State Department of Insurance Offices to assist with understanding the requirements.
  • Works with the various business segments to understand the segment’s process in order to reconcile issues and respond to requests.
  • Address any immediate requests for data calls and data reports
  • Provide clear documentation for all data requests

Qualifications

  • Associates degree and/or 2-4 years related technical/underwriting/claims experience in the insurance industry
  • Work related experience
  • Insurance Knowledge
  • High degree of proficiency in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to complete reconciliations of data, the ability to trace reconciling items and identify cause and remedial action needed.
  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills with a detail orientation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of insurance and accounting topics (such as premiums, loss reserving and claims)
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply advanced problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to manage and accommodate shifting priorities
