Overview

AmTrust Financial, a global Fortune 500 company, is currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Cleveland, Ohio.   In this role, you will be responsible for travel and expense reports, working with internal and external customers if there are any questions and applying payments where applicable. 

Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for all employee travel and expenses
  • Perform day to day processing of all payment cycle activities and provide efficient client service
  • Keep track, process and reconcile payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, checks, refund requisitions etc., in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure correct approval, sorting, coding and matching of invoices/receipts
  • Liaise with internal and external clients
  • Regularly tabulate data and compile necessary reports
  • Continuously improve payment processes
  • Ad hoc projects

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED, prefer Associates or Bachelor's in accounting
  • Must be comfortable talking with people at all levels
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
