Overview

AmTrust Financial, a global Fortune 500 company, is currently recruiting for a Paralegal position in Bedford, Texas.  In this position you will help coordinate the legal/compliance review of consumer-facing materials, websites, creatives, scripts etc. in accordance with laws/regulations applicable to direct-to-consumer marketing and telemarketing activities.  Such compliance efforts will be in support of company’s vehicle service contracts, consumer electronics service plans and similar products.  Ensures compliance through the performance of duties such as: auditing/review of processes, marketing materials, and telemarketing activities.  Provide additional support for various special projects, as directed by leadership of Legal team.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on involvement with legal/compliance team, operations staff, telemarketing staff, third-party vendors and marketing team.
  • Supports Legal to ensure compliance in accordance with consumer protection-oriented laws or regulations applicable to direct marketing of products and services to consumers.
  • Auditing/proofing/reviewing marketing materials, marketing-oriented websites, email templates, advertisements and processes to ensure compliance with applicable law/regulations and corporate policies/standards.
  • Tracking and documenting the status of projects to ensure completion in accordance with deadlines.
  • Achieve and maintain a working knowledge of relevant consumer laws and regulations to assist Legal and Compliance team in determining guidance on consumer-oriented direct marketing activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree is preferred 
  • Three - five years legal, compliance and/or consumer regulatory experience.
  • Knowledge of issues surrounding telemarketing initiatives and/or direct to consumer marketing initiatives strongly preferred, though not required.
  • Strong analytical and/or legal research skills (i.e. Lexis/Nexis, NILS, Westlaw, etc.).
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects at a time and a diverse workload.
  • Ability to organize data and documents.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and diplomacy to effectively interact with both internal and external contacts, and coordinate activities.
  • Ability to identify, prioritize and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to deliver results with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
