Overview

Responsible for designing AmTrust’s global enterprise network architecture, strategy, technology roadmap, and implementing advanced networking solutions to support business requirements. The Sr. Network Architect will be driving solutions and methodologies that support world-class standards for Network Services, as well as identifying key targeted areas for improvement. This role will be a level 4 senior architect overseeing all network design.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements to develop technical solutions and the framework
  • Enterprise architecture of all network architectures including WAN, LAN, Internet connectivity
  • Optimizing and evolving the current network for resiliency, high availability and performance
  • Demand planning - Forecast sizing of circuits, initiatives and workload for engineering group
  • Design, test, and inspect data communications systems.
  • Develop test plans, implementation plans, and high-level project timelines for various projects.
  • Mentoring of engineering team members and fostering growth within the business environment
  • Stays abreast of latest networking technologies and trends in the market place to bring to deliver business value, high availability.
  • Write functional requirements/specifications documents.
  • Assess vendor development/test strategies.
  • Providing network architecture and design services that define AmTrust applications and guide other teams.
  • Develop network standards based on emerging technologies and strategic direction.

Qualifications

  • Optical Networking MRV DWDM
  • Cisco Routers and Switches (ASR 1006, ASR1001, ISR4400/4300, ISR3900, Nexus 7K, 9K, 5K, 2K, 6500, 3850, 2960X)
  • Cisco Security appliances (5585x,5525x)
  • NetFlow and QoS tool - LiveAction
  • Testing and Validation - Ixia
  • Routing Protocols-BGP, OSPF, EIGRP – advanced knowledge required
  • Switching technologies - VLANs, VSS, MPLS, vPC
  • MPLS VPN architectures – advanced BGP multi-vendor
  • Datacenter architectures – VxLAN/OTV/VDC
  • Campus LAN/MAN architectures
  • Multicast and IPTV Solutions
  • Global DNS, and Local F5 – LTM and GTM
  • Decision-making
  • CCIE certification highly preferred
  • BA or BS degree is preferred or 15+ years’ experience in network engineering
  • Enterprise 100 global networking architecture experience supporting 10k+ users & 250+ sites globally
  • Experience with enterprise class network management/monitoring systems is desired (Live Action, GIGAMON, Ixia, Prime, ISE)
  • LAN/WAN expert with respect to the configuration, implementation and support of the responsible LAN/WAN technologies including Internet routing, DNS Hosting, Internetworking best practices, and Data Center Networks
  • Firm working knowledge of Cisco technologies that include, but are not limited to all major models of IOS and NX-OS based routers/switches (Cisco Nexus, Catalyst switches, ASR/ISR)
  • Expert foundation of supporting, network data capturing (sniffer) and analysis, QoS fundamentals (policy-maps, queue levels and etc.) EIGRP and advanced MPLS BGP/VRF routing
