Overview

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications and systems that support business objectives. This role serves as a technical leader within the engineering team, driving best practices, mentoring developers, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. The Senior Software Engineer collaborates closely with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and innovation.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software applications and services.
  • Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.
  • Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Review code and provide mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects and production issues.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Document technical designs, processes, and system architecture.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.
  • Cloud certifications or other relevant technical certifications.
  • Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineering teams.

The expected salary range for this role is USD $100,200.00 - USD $125,000.00 Yr.
