The Premium Audit Compliance Analyst is responsible for evaluating the work completed by auditors that can be reviewed and tested by various independent bureaus to make sure the audits adhere to established bureau audit procedures. The role supports operational business effectiveness ensuring the test audit program related to independent rating bureau requirements as well as related regulatory compliance requirements are met. This role supports AmTrust’s various lines of business with a focus on Workers Compensation. Further, the role ensures accuracy, compliance, and transparency in audit outcomes while communicating with applicable bureau contacts as well as with internal teams. This role verifies audited exposures from records and information collected at time of audit in accordance with policy terms, manual rules, company filings, and procedures. The expected salary range for this role is $53,000 - 83,000.

· Establish and maintain procedures related to protocols for internal audit review to meet standards to fulfill state regulations including bureau test audits.
· Interface with online portals and correspond with applicable bureaus on regulatory matters to receive and transmit pertinent information related to test audit programs including test audit selections, and rebuttals of test audit errors.
· Meets all filing and submission deadlines from various regulatory bodies.
· Follow defined audit review processes and provide feedback from audit reviews to auditors related to submission timelines, and to established standards for accuracy and compliance with bureau test audit programs.
· Validates correct classification of exposures in accordance with regulatory agencies, independent state bureaus, and company procedures by reviewing records and other relevant documentation—often through secure digital exchange.
· Document audit differences based on review findings related to independent state bureaus, and other applicable regulatory standards.
· Communicates findings clearly and professionally to auditors and management via reporting, including thorough analysis of identified deficiencies.
· Maintain accurate records of audit review outcomes and report results to applicable stakeholders including auditors, team members, managers and department leadership.
· Collaborate with regional audit teams to implement corrections from review findings and help facilitate related process changes to meet compliance requirements.
· Attempt to reduce audit related errors by making recommendations to increase the accuracy of audits subject to test audit programs, and related operational processes.
· Collate and analyze data from reviews to collaborate with premium audit training unit for improvement opportunities.
· Monitor state regulatory requirements and update internal review processes and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance
· Provide updates on applicable class code changes and bureau guidelines to individuals and team members within the department as well as other applicable business units such as underwriting, legal and compliance.
· Provide guidance on State labor code, law and or regulations related to premium audit
· Consult as needed with auditors and leadership team to provide advice on audit compliance and legal rulings
· Attend internal department meetings as well as external agency meetings related to audit and regulatory matters
· Evaluate audits for potential fraud referrals as applicable
· Utilize secure digital platforms and remote communication tools ensuring efficiency and accuracy while minimizing disruption to the enterprise.
· Provide technical guidance, procedural guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
· May be asked to schedule a meeting with a customer, complete an audit or revise an audit upon request.
· Stays current with manual rules, industry trends, and understanding of the impact of underwriting endorsements.
· Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
· Some travel may be required but would be limited to less than 10%.
Required:
· Minimum 3 years of experience in premium audit or related regulatory compliance experience, including complex field or virtual multi‑state audits and high‑premium accounts.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent Excel skills are required.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities to identify compliance risks.
· Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with supervision.
Preferred:
· 5 years of experience in premium audit, including auditing of operations in state(s) subject to a test audit program from an independent bureau such as PA, DE, NY, NJ, CA, or experience working for an applicable bureau.
· Associates in Premium Audit Program (APA) certification preferred OR working towards APA certification
· Experience in building and overseeing the implementation of procedures related to regulatory compliance or premium audit compliance.
· Adept in navigation of complex regulatory rules and procedures and serving as a subject matter expert on related matters and communication with regulatory agencies.
· Knowledge of industry guidelines, audit procedures, and state regulations impacting premium audit.
· Experience interpreting policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
