Overview

AmTrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, has a need for a Senior Manager in our Professional Liability group. This position will include aspects of team leadership and direct oversight of complex files. The Director will be held accountable for driving quality, technical excellence, providing coverage acumen on complex claims, and providing leadership support to a national claims team handling.

 

The Senior Manager works closely with all levels of claims leadership to provide direction and guidance to claim professionals driving claims performance to achieve optimal claims outcomes, superior individual and team operational results, and strategic alignment with claims department goals and objectives. Responsible for the development, coaching, mentoring, and training of the Professional Liability Claims organization, and ensures consistent, inspiring, and effective communication with claims personnel.

 

This position will require hybrid attendance in one of our AmTrust claim locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of professional liability adjusters focusing on the handling of management liability, employment practices liability, Financial Lines and other claims as needed.
  • Provide technical oversight to emerging and/or complex claims with an emphasis on coverage and risk transfer within the Professional Liability organization.
  • Analyze legal issues and support effective coverage dispute resolution strategies.
  • Work to develop and strengthen process efficiencies within the Professional Liability organization
  • Drive best practices in customer service and support for business partners to optimize profitable growth
  • Identify, develop, present, and/or implement training initiatives
  • Facilitate Professional Liability roundtable discussions and quality file reviews
  • Lead alignment and calibration efforts to bring about consistency in claims handling excellence
  • Participate as a SME in projects and initiatives for Professional Liability and assist in cross departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Present authority requests or strategy recommendations to senior leadership
  • Keeps current with market trends and demands, including changes to compliance and law in all 50 states, and advise management and claim professionals regarding impact of changes.

Qualifications

  • Seven to ten years experience in professional liability, and/or coverage litigation management. JD preferred, but not required.
  • Experience providing claim oversight and direction on complex claims issues.
  • Experience training highly technical claims staff.
  • Proven track record of success in positively impacting claim outcomes within a claims organization.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership.
  • Embraces change, invites feedback related to performance, and deals constructively with criticism.
  • Persuades and influences people by presenting a strong case, explains things clearly, challenges ideas effectively, and argues in favor of own point of view.
  • Proven ability to work with internal and external partners to ensure positive claims experience to insureds.
  • Demonstrated drive and ambition to achieve goals and outstanding results.

The expected salary range for this role is $130K-175K/year.
