We are seeking a highly driven, entrepreneurial Assistant Vice President of Business Development to lead new revenue generation across our multi line insurance portfolio, including Renters Insurance, Travel Insurance, Event & Ticket Insurance,.
This role is designed for a true hunter — someone who thrives on sourcing, cultivating, and closing new distribution partnerships. The ideal candidate has deep experience in P&C insurance, ideally within a Managing General Agency (MGA) or in partnership with property technology (PropTech) platforms, large property management companies, or embedded insurance distribution models. This leader will own their pipeline end-to-end — from prospecting to onboarding to premium growth — and will play a critical role in scaling written premium and identifying new product opportunities.
• Proactively source and close new distribution partnerships
• Target MGAS, PropTech platforms, travel platforms, ticketing platforms, and embedded insurance channels
• Develop and manage a robust, self-generated pipeline
• Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
• Execute disciplined prospecting strategy
Deal Structuring & Closing:
• Lead RFP responses and proposal development
• Negotiate distribution, commission, and revenue-share structures
• Collaborate with underwriting, compliance, and other internal partners to structure competitive programs
• Close agreements aligned with premium growth targets
Portfolio Growth & Account Expansion:
• Oversee newly onboarded accounts for continued growth
• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities
• Maintain executive-level relationships within partner organizations
• Drive premium growth within each relationship
Product & Innovation Strategy:
• Bring forward ideas for new P&C or specialty programs
• Identify emerging embedded insurance opportunities
• Evaluate market gaps within renters, travel, ticket, service contract, or adjacent verticals
• Collaborate on product creation and carrier alignment
• 7–10+ years in P&C insurance business development
• Proven track record of generating and closing new business
• Experience within an MGA, specialty P&C carrier, or embedded insurance/affinity distribution model
• Experience working with property technology platforms or large property management companies
• Demonstrated success running an independent sales pipeline
• Strong understanding of underwriting economics and commission structures

The expected salary range for this role is $137,800-$160,000/year.
