Overview

The Underwriting Technician provides critical operational and administrative support to the underwriting team. This role is responsible for managing incoming submissions, maintaining accurate and complete underwriting files, supporting the quote‑to‑bind process, and ensuring smooth communication and documentation flow with brokers. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Submission Intake & File Management

  • Monitor incoming broker submissions and accurately enter all required information into Jetfile.
  • Create, maintain, and organize underwriting files for each submission throughout its lifecycle.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation entered into the system.

Underwriting & Operations Support

  • Assist with processing Non‑Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Non‑Reliance Letters (NRLs), and other documentation needed to maintain broker relationships.
  • Support underwriters throughout the quote and bind process by preparing, editing, and organizing required documents.
  • Manage and update all Jetfile‑generated documents associated with each quote.

Closing & Policy Documentation

  • Create and prepare invoices, binders, surplus lines tax acknowledgements, and other closing materials.
  • Track required documentation to support timely policy issuance.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Generate reports from Jetfile as requested by underwriting or leadership.
  • Support ongoing data integrity efforts to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Broker & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Maintain positive working relationships with brokers by ensuring prompt, accurate, and professional communication.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks that support smooth departmental operations.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in underwriting support, operations, insurance administration, or a related role preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with document management systems; experience with Jetfile a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Operational: File management, workflow coordination, process support.
  • Interpersonal: Professional communication with internal teams and brokers.
  • Analytical: Ability to review and validate information for completeness and consistency.

The expected salary range for this role is $46,600-$72,000
