Responsibilities

 

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN technologies, including Internet routing, DNS hosting, and data center networking.
  • Implement and support enterprise-class network management and monitoring systems (e.g., Live Action, SolarWinds, Splunk, Cisco ISE).
  • Engineer and optimize Cisco IOS and NX-OS-based routers and switches, including Nexus (vPCs), Catalyst, and ASR/ISR platforms.
  • Configure and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Deploy and manage wireless technologies (Cisco WLC, LWAPs, FlexConnect) and comparable enterprise-class solutions.
  • Perform network data capture and analysis using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and Ekahau.
  • Implement QoS policies and ensure optimal traffic prioritization across enterprise networks.
  • Support data center architectures (VxLAN, OTV, VDC) and campus LAN/MAN designs for scalability and resilience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate networking solutions with security, cloud, and application environments.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and network diagrams.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in a senior network engineering role within a large, complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco technologies, including Nexus, Catalyst, and ASR/ISR platforms.
  • Advanced expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and internetworking best practices.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, Cisco ISE) and out-of-band management solutions.
  • Familiarity with wireless networking technologies and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Proficiency with network analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, Ekahau).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions in business terms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNP or CCIE certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Arista hardware, Palo Alto security appliances, and/or Zscaler.
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Python) for network configuration and orchestration.
  • Experience with F5 Networks or similar load balancing solutions.

The expected salary range for this role is $90,000-$135,000/year.
