AmTrust Financial Services (AFS) is seeking a visionary and execution-focused Director of Data Governance Stewardship. The candidate will be a member of the Data Analytics department reporting to the Vice President of Data Governance. This role is crucial for ensuring the curation (business glossaries, business processes, data quality rules, etc.) of AFS data assets are governed and maintained across the organization. This person will act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to achieve organizational goals. With minimum supervision, you will work closely with business stakeholders and be a key resource within the Data Domain Councils, promoting a community of practices within AFS.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent discipline.
· Minimum of 5+ years leading or managing business units / teams.
· Minimum of 10+ years of business analyst work experience.
· Proven track record of establishing Data Stewardship processes and policies.
· Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
· Strong understanding of Insurance business processes (claims, underwriting, etc.)
· Deep understanding of data quality and metadata management principles.
· Experience with master data management tools and techniques.
· Excellent ability to explain complex data concepts, inclusive of conflict resolution, to diverse audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels.
· Experience with data security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
· Knowledge of agile and waterfall Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
