Overview

The Specialty Insurance Division of Amtrust Financial Services, Inc. supports Managing General Agents within the Specialty Programs space. Communication is primarily received via email; this is not a call center. The Client Services Support Team’s mission is to be the single point of contact for our Managing General Agents by providing high quality and innovative support.

This position provides analytical support to the Client Services Support Team for Specialty Programs who troubleshoot and resolve IT related issues and operational challenges.  This position would implement policies and procedures set forth by the business units within Specialty Insurance.  Collaborating with internal Product, IT, and Underwriting teams to make sure that the products and/or application development within the rating systems meet the needs of the end users.  This position is responsible for making sure the final deliverables meet the project specifications and requirements. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert of proprietary IT rate and form editor tools.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing for various rating system enhancements and updates.
  • Communicate and interact with various disciplines within AmTrust on changes and enhancements that could impact data, workflow, and functionality.
  • Provide project status to upper management and delivery managers.
  • Act as a primary liaison between MGA users and IT project/delivery teams.
  • Analyze and identify system and user experience issues and work with IT to successfully resolve.
  • Conduct preliminary analysis to determine sources of discrepancies between actual and expected results.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate all system issues and coordinate resolution with IT to ensure that system changes are appropriate, viable and can be tracked to prevent future defects.
  • Build workflow documents in support of functional system enhancements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned business portals and systems.
  • Interact professionally with both external clients and internal business partners within the company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent business experience required.
  • 3 plus years of experience in the research and development of complex business systems, preferably in the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
  • Supreme attention to detail and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Solid working knowledge of core business analysis practices & utilization of various techniques.
  • Ability to document, analyze, and identify business and system process gaps.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical staff and convey complex ideas both verbally and in written form to all levels.
  • Flexible team player, who can work in a fast-paced environment, with an appreciation of ever-changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on various projects.
  • Demonstration of timely finalization of deliverables.
  • Ability to professionally manage challenging situations.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL.
  • Travel is not required but able to as needed.
  • Knowledge of ISO rates, information, and tables are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to pivot to competing priorities.
