Reporting to the AVP of Premium Audit, the Premium Audit Director - Core Operations is responsible for executing departmental strategies, managing operations, and supporting the AVP in achieving organizational goals. This role oversees service delivery, staff development, vendor management, and regulatory compliance within the Premium Audit function. The Director serves as a key resource for insureds and agents, ensuring a high standard of service and alignment with AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values.
Strategic Execution & Departmental Support
· Collaborate with the AVP of Premium Audit to implement departmental goals and initiatives.
· Translate strategic objectives into operational plans and ensure alignment across teams.
Operational Management
· Oversee daily operations to ensure timely and accurate audit service delivery.
· Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions to meet service level agreements
· Lead and mentor audit support teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning
Dispute Accountability
· Oversee the resolution of premium audit disputes, ensuring timely, accurate, and customer-focused outcomes.
· Establish and maintain standardized procedures for handling audit disputes across all lines of business.
· Collaborate with regional audit teams to ensure dispute handling aligns with regulatory and contractual obligations.
· Monitor dispute trends and root causes to identify opportunities for process improvement and training.
· Serve as the escalation point for complex or high-impact audit disputes, providing guidance and final resolution decisions.
· Develop reporting mechanisms to track dispute volumes, resolution times, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Vendor Oversight
· Oversee relationships with third-party premium audit vendors, ensuring alignment with service level agreements, audit quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
· Evaluate vendor performance through scorecards and feedback loops.
· Facilitate communication of strategic direction and operational changes to vendors.
· Partner with procurement and third-party risk management to manage contracts, due diligence, and risk mitigation.
· Develop vendor playbooks outlining roles, responsibilities, and service expectations.
Customer & Agent Relations
· Resolve disputed audits and provide support to customers and agents regarding audit inquiries.
· Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Market Awareness
· Stay informed of industry trends and market demands to guide departmental practices.
Additional Duties
· Perform other functionally related duties as assigned by the AVP of Premium Audit.

Required:
· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
· Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in premium audit or related field.
· Proven accountability and ownership of responsibilities.
· Strong business acumen and understanding of industry concepts.
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
Preferred:
· Advanced degree or professional certifications related to insurance, auditing, or business management.
· Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
· Familiarity with regulatory compliance in insurance auditing.
