The Building Mailroom Clerk supports the daily operations of the mailroom by managing incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and interoffice deliveries. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a stable, hands-on position in a professional environment. Dependability, attention to detail, and a customer service mindset are essential.
1. Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages to appropriate departments or individuals
2. Prepare and process outgoing mail, including postage, labeling, and courier coordination
3. Maintain accurate logs of incoming and outgoing deliveries
4. Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, scanners, and label printers
5. Monitor and replenish mailroom supplies
6. Assist with interoffice deliveries and special mailing projects
7. Ensure compliance with postal regulations and internal procedures
8. Other duties as assigned by management
Required:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email systems
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Attention to detail and accuracy in handling mail and records
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Professional demeanor and communication skills
Preferred:
· 6 months experience in a mailroom, shipping/receiving, or facilities support role
· Familiarity with USPS, FedEx, UPS, or other courier services
· Experience using mail tracking or imaging systems
