The Cyber Underwriter will produce and underwrite new and renewal business within the fast-growing Cyber Division. The role will be responsible for assessing the cybersecurity maturity and insurability of business entities across a wide range of industry sectors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business, helping improve the technical expertise and underwriting guidelines within the division, as well as developing relationships with our key broker partners to achieve our team’s shared goals. To be successful the candidate must be self-motivated, adaptable to a changing marketplace, and able to work and collaborate as part of a team. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.
1. In collaboration with Management, develop and implement the territory business plan and share accountability with team in meeting territory and team goals.
2. Collaborate with the team to develop, manage and maintain outside client relationships that will include traveling in the territory to meet with agents, producers and organizations. Actively participate in industry events as required such as but not limited to agency or association conventions.
3. Maintain compliance with state filings and adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines. Operate within written authority grant and makes referrals to Home Office Underwriting as required.
4. Manage renewal business processes including renewal quotes, notices, and policies in a timely manner and maintain frequent correspondence with brokers.
5. Proactively foster and develop positive relationships with key broker and agent partners, as well as territory RSMs and underwriters.
6. Provide professional, timely and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross departmental staff to successfully resolve issues pertaining to policyholders and territory producers.
7. Keep current with market trends and demands and analyze technology trends to stay up to date with emerging risks to identify opportunities and exposures.
8. Operate within the established underwriting authority and within the parameters of the underwriting guidelines.
9. Collaborate closely with cyber underwriting team. Keep peers and Management informed of all issues and activity.
10. Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required:
· 4-year degree BA/BS or equivalent education and/or work experience
Preferred:
· Demonstrated experience with commercial insurance
· Independent and self-motivated
· Articulate and analytical
· Detail oriented and customer focused
· Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and manage/prioritize projects effectively in a fast-paced environment
· Proficient with Microsoft suite of products
The expected salary range for this role is $56k-$80k
