Senior Claims Adjuster

Unique opportunity to be a key part of a growing Professional Liability Claims Team within a dynamic, international insurance company.

ANV Global Services (www.anv.eu.com) underwrites as a Global MGU with centers in Europe and the USA.  From our offices in Barcelona, Milan and Morristown NJ, we provide underwriting expertise for some of the strongest and highest rated and financial partners in the market.  The Claims Team at ANV works closely with insureds, brokers and underwriters to ensure that claims are handled in a fair, appropriate and consistent manner.

We are currently looking for a Senior Claims Adjuster to join our Professional Liability Claims Team in Morristown NJ (or remote). 

 

Main scope of role:

The Senior Claims Adjuster is responsible for the prompt and efficient examination, investigation and settlement or declination of Professional Liability Claims through effective research, negotiation and interaction with insureds, brokers and outside counsel, ensuring that company resources are utilized in a cost effective manner in the process.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly review new claim notifications and timely set-up and acknowledge receipt of claim.
  • Review, process and conclude high exposure liability claims or those limited in exposure but occasionally complex in nature
  • Oversee and direct a majority of litigated or potentially litigated claims, directing and controlling the work and expenses of investigative services or attorneys
  • Assess coverage and review claims for purposes of investigations, action plans, evaluation  and resolution potential
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of liability and damages
  • Continually assess exposure and evaluate for accurate reserves
  • Prepare Large Loss Reports and maintain ongoing claim updates
  • Complete quality investigations by gathering all pertinent information related to the claim
  • Correspond with brokers and insureds to support the effective management of claims.
  • Maintain appropriate financial accountabilities (reserving) and controls loss adjustment expenses
  • Maintain claim file documentation, spreadsheets and bordereaux.
  • Respond promptly to all claim inquiries, both internal and external.
  • Assist with all claim reporting.
  • Assist with claim payments.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Promote the growth and strong reputation of ANV Global Services / AmTrust Group.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS required; JD preferred
  • 5+ years claim adjusting experience (at least 2+ years Professional Lines)
  • Maintain valid adjusters’ license(s) in states assigned or an ability to obtain same
  • Ability to manage relationships in a fast paced environment, while demonstrating persistence along with problem solving and decision making skills to work with customers through a variety of challenging situations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and ability to learn new software program
  • Ability to multi-task and handle large volumes of work in a short period of time
  • Time management skills, organizational skills and ability to prioritize issues and tasks
