Overview

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a growing commercial insurance holding company, has an immediate need for a Commercial Accounting Assistant. 

Responsibilities

  • reconciling several high volume escrow bank accounts
  • Entering vendor information into databases such as names, billing details, address, etc.
  • Maintaining a record of all open orders and track status of all vendor payments.
  • Prepare and review preliminary Good Faith Estimates and closing and other invoices, revise as required;
  • On residential files responsibilities include: monitoring and conducting wire activity, wire instruction entry and wire release, verification of wire instructions, check printing, tracking separate escrow account balances, running trial balance and disbursement reports.
  • On commercial files responsibilities include: settlement statement preparation, funding transaction, monitoring and conducting wire activity, wire instruction entry and wire release, verification of wire. Communicates with internal staff and agents
  • Reconcile files after closing and cashiering files so the bank accounts tie out.
  • Create, memorialize, standardize department policies and procedures; and
  • Provide general support to other Company employees.

Qualifications

  • Degree from accredited college/university (preferred)
  • Strong organization and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer software, ability to learn title specific software
  • Prior experience in title agency Closing, Accounting /or production department(s) – 1 year min, preferred
  • Professional and dependable
  • Must work well under pressure in a team driven environment 

The salary range for this role is $50,000-$60,000/yr. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York, California, or New Jersey. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
