The SIU Coordinator role involves reviewing case files, outlining detailed records, and assisting with compliance efforts. The SIU Coordinator will review and report potential fraud to the proper state agencies along with tracking requests generated from DOI referrals. The SIU Coordinator may have direct communication with Law Enforcement, Departments of Insurance, and outside Carriers. The SIU Coordinator will assist with gathering data for state reporting purposes that involves SIU. The SIU Coordinator must maintain a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values, and the SIU Coordinator must uphold the standards of the organization.
· Organize case files, including evidence and documents, ensuring accurate record -keeping
· Collaborates with claims personnel to ensure we have all facts of a claim to create a solid case for a potential DOI referral
· Completes Investigative/Fraud related training to fulfill regulatory requirements
· Track request letters received from states that are generated from referrals filed DOI while complying with provided deadlines and ensuring all requested information is gathered, reviewed, and provided
· Provides professional, timely, and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff to successfully resolve issues
· Draft referrals to be submitted to state agencies when evidence is identified to indicate potential insurance fraud Communicate closely with external partners, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory bodies to facilitate cases and share outcomes
· Assist with tracking SIU data for the yearly SIU compliance reports Maintain detailed documentation of activities, including case updates, reports, communication and summaries to ensure accuracy and completeness
· Keeps current with market trends and demands
· Performs other functionally related duties as assigned
· An associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field from an accredited college or university OR 5+ years of insurance claims investigation experience OR professional investigation experience with law enforcement agencies OR 7+ years of professional investigation experience.
· Demonstrated experience with commercial casualty, property, automobile, and workers’ compensation insurance products is required.
· Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze large amounts of data and make an informed, calculated decisions.
· Must demonstrate a high level of respect for confidential information.
· Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
· Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills.
