  • Overview

    AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is looking for an eager system professional who is reliable and who wants to be a part of an enterprise team.

     

    In this role you would be responsible for the configuration, on-going administration, maintenance, and evolution of CommVault backup strategies and solutions. We currently utilize several tools for executing “to-disk” and “to-tape” backup strategies for various systems, virtual machines, databases, and user hardware.  The Backup Administrator will be responsible for off-site media management and periodic testing of disaster recovery plans. The Backup Administrator actively supports the production MS SQL Server (2008+) database environments, VMware, Netapp and ever increasing multi-fold enterprise data volumes.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintaining and expanding the existing Backup strategy and infrastructure
    • Working directly with colleagues to maintain and evolve the Disaster Recovery Planning, Testing and Response for the Enterprise
    • Leveraging the Backup Infrastructure for Operational efficiency, including data staging, recovery and hardware migration
    • Collaborate with other team members on IT/Operations initiatives, including data center, network administration, backup and disaster recovery efforts and strategies
    • Maintain audit requirements for backups / restores
    • Ensure success of backups and continuous backup optimization
    • Participating in an on-call production technology support rotation
    • Assists with support of physical and virtual server environments
    • Documents, monitors, and audits those environments
    • Provides maintenance to systems and applications.
    • Provides supplemental systems administration support to IT team
    • Create process documentation for team and provide internal training to team members

    Qualifications

    Skills and Key Competencies:

    • Technical working knowledge of Disaster Recovery concepts and best practices, including experience with Big Data volumes
    • Familiarity with top tier data center environments Group Policy administration
    • Experience with Terminal Servers
    • Experience writing/maintaining appropriate scripts to automate system administration and recurring jobs
    • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
    • Experience in supporting a 24x7 production environment

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience managing Windows Server environment and ComVault
    • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Server platform and its components including Active Directory, Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2, failover clustering, certificate services, IIS, and other related technologies
    • Experience in administration of source systems including: MSSQL Server 2008/R2/2012 Ent, Hyper-V
    • Familiarity with top tier data center environments
    • Experience with various SAN storage manufactures as well as LTO tape technologies
    • General knowledge of cloud storage experience with Backup Exec 2010/2012, CommVault
    • VMware ESXi (vSphere, vMotion)
