Overview

As a BI Data Modeler, you will build robust data warehouse/marts/sets which will enable business users to make informed decisions. You will use advanced SQL tools to move large amounts of data and build complex algorithms.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, Transform, & Load SQL data according to business requirements creating algorithms of varying levels of complexity
  • Build, maintain, support, & automate tables, views, stored procedures, SSIS packages, & SSAS cubes
  • Agile development with Git source control in Azure DevOps for builds, releases, project tracking, and documentation
  • Collaborate closely with team of developers and analysts, building sophisticated data analysis tools for executives and all areas of the business

Qualifications

  • 5 years minimum experience writing SQL and DAX, building SSAS cubes, and SSIS Packages
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, Git, Agile
  • Exceptional technical writing skills
  • Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields

Preferred: 

  • Knowledge of Power BI, Excel PowerPivot & PowerQuery, MDX, Collibra, Redgate tools
  • Familiar with acquiring data from various data sources (MSSql Server, REST APIs, Oracle DB)
  • Exposure to mathematics & actuarial analysis, statistical analysis & data science, accounting & financial reporting, and insurance industry practices.
