Overview

Responsible for specific tasks included in finance which could include, reinsurance accounting, general ledger, account analysis, and compliance, while providing a high level of administrative support to both internal and external clients

Responsibilities

  • Provide input concerning internal controls, which will safeguard the Company's assets
  • Prepare journal entries, accurate worksheets to substantiate and document account balances
  • Assists in the timely preparation of filings which include the annual statement and compliance
  • Reinsurance accounting, including the timely collection of reinsurance recoverables
  • Assisting in the data preparation used in the internal actuarial analysis
  • Prepare reconcile assigned general ledger accounts to detail
  • To ensure all Invoices are printed in line with the print schedule.
  • To ensure all Invoices are distributed within company SLA’s.
  • To ensure all Business Reports are printed in line with the print schedule.
  • To ensure all Business Reports are distributed within company SLA’s.
  • Produce and post manual documents to the sub ledger, including the use of correct control ID and GL distributions (dealer recovery, ad-hoc manual charges)
  • Manage returned payments accurately and promptly
  • Process amendments and updates to the systems for process control parameters as required (control ID, invoice schemes and BACS ID’s)
  • Complete cheque production ensuring that financial transactions are recorded correctly
  • Creation and validation of BACS payment and collection files
  • Creation and validation of wire payment files
  • Investigate and respond to queries received in the Business Support mailbox
  • Work with sales teams and other departments to resolve complex queries relating to financial transactions and balances

 

General

  • To be cooperative with colleagues promoting good relations and ensuring the highest quality of service at all times to internal & external contacts.
  • To undertake any formal or informal training arranged by the company and attend meetings as and when required.
  • Undertake other departmental duties commensurate with own skill level in other areas of the business as and when required.
  • To ensure any issue that is over and above the limits of authority are escalated immediately to the Administration Manager.

 

Compliance

  • To conform to all company policies in force at all times i.e. the security of corporate information, electronic mail policy and computer usage policy.
  • To conform to legislative and procedural policies in force at all times e.g. DPA requirements.
  • To ensure all property assigned is kept in good order with any faulty equipment being immediately reported to the Administration Manager.
  • To adhere to company dress policies and ensuring suitable standards of personal hygiene.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • 2 to 3 years experience financial accounting of insurance, finance or banking
  • Must have good organization skills and be detail oriented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and ability to learn new software programs
